Growing Business Online | Fast Web Formula 3 | Day 1

Leading internet marketing gurus share their tips

I recently attended James Schramko’s annual conference Fast Web Formula 3 and heard from leading internet marketing gurus about the latest developments, what’s working and what’s hot for growing business online.

I’ve shared my key learnings from each speaker in a three part video presentation.

The video below is a summary of Day 1 and includes James Schramko, Ed Dale, Suraj Sodha, Simon Johnson and Leanne King.

You can also watch the video on YouTube, view a slide presentation on Slideshare or email me and I’ll send you a free PDF copy of the presentation.

The whole event was professionally videoed and the content is absolutely outstanding for anyone wanting to start or grow business online. Β The videos will be available from mid-November and are available on pre-order from Fast Web Formula 3.

I hope you found something new that you can implement to grow your business online. If you have any questions about any of the content in the video, please get in touch.

    Hi Suellen,

I confess I don’t normally like videos – I much prefer to have the text so I can scan read over it in half the time it takes to watch a video – but I really enjoyed your presentation!

Of the tips you mentioned, the idea of a ‘portal’ or directory website struck a cord for me. Not because that is what I want for my site but it gave me some ideas of other things I can do on it (eg, product reviews, competitions etc).

I look forward to watching about day 2!

    Regards
    Jen

      Hi Jen,

I’m pleased you liked the video. People have different preferred methods of taking information in and that’s why I produced the video plus put the slides up on slideshare without the commentary but with a transcript and offered a PDF! Figured that about covered everyone!

Leanne King’s presentation was great. I watched her create a complete website for NY Pet Suppliers in literally 20 minutes! She then gave the site away to one lucky participant – not me sadly πŸ™

I’m thrilled this has sparked an idea that you can apply to your own business. That’s my goal πŸ™‚

Day 2 will be out tomorrow and Day 3 on Monday. Hope you get something out of each of those too.

      Cheers
      Suellen

Great video Suellen – thanks for mentioning me in it and having a summary of my talk πŸ™‚

And i’m glad you enjoyed The Go-Giver…simple but powerful lessons!

    • Suellen Hughes November 3, 2011 at 1:57 pm #

Thanks Suraj. I loved your presentation. I need to do more networking. I love meeting people so just need to find the right events…or perhaps create my own!

I read The Go-Giver in the car on the way home and loved it for business and for life. Bob is such a nice guy too – he’s replied to a few of my tweets – makes me feel special πŸ˜‰

      Talk soon

Hey Suellen, thanks for mentioning me in your great video presentation πŸ™‚

Btw WP Local Plus is currently pulling data from the US and the UK (and they are adding Canada and Australia soon) but you can still purchase it now – you just won’t be able to pull data from the countries they have not added yet so if you have an .au domain you are waiting if you have a .com you’re good to go.

@Jen a portal does not have to be a business directory (and it shouldn’t ever be just that) it can be a gateway to great reviews, content, competitions, polls, surveys and the like

      Hi Leanne,
Thanks for dropping by and for your kind words.

I’ve downloaded WP Local Plus – thanks for the clarification. I have a client who has been looking for a solution exactly like this! The sooner they add Australia the better.

Thanks again for your great presentation. I loved it and was so hoping I’d win the great site you created and the coaching!!

Ah branding:) It is important. What’s the exit figure all about?

    • Suellen Hughes November 24, 2011 at 3:51 pm #

      Hi Annabel,

The exit figure James Schramko talks about is the dollar value of your business you want to aspire to. How much money do you want to make? When you reach that number – and it will be different for everyone – then you can walk away because you’ve got the money in the bank. It’s an aspirational number to have in your mind so that as you are growing your business, you build it with the right processes and systems in mind to deliver that kind of revenue/profit. It also helps when things get tough. Remember what you are trying to build and what it will mean for you when you get there.

Yes branding is important and will probably become even more so. In the online world, your brand is the first impression and as IRL, it takes people just a few seconds to form an opinion about you / your business based on those first impressions. Good news for you eh? πŸ˜‰

      Thanks for dropping by

P.S. you were right, Gideon Shalwick was great.

    Hi Suellen,

I think you’ve done a great job recapping the first day of the event… and it’s great to see you implementing multi-media strategies for getting your content out there.

    Awesome stuff

      Hi Rick,

Thanks. Did you attend FWF3? Adding more channels is high on my priority list for next year – for myself and my clients!
